The Pencil

I know sometimes my stories and seemingly endless tales can sometimes seem. . .as a friend told me, rather grasshopperish. You know the old kung fu movies where the teacher gives the student some riddle like story and the student then deciphers a life changing lesson from it all. I too agree that many of the stories, fables if you will permit, do seem that way. Their lessons can also seem very fundamental at times. I promise that upon closer examination you will find many aspects that can indeed be profound. We only need to be open to them. Heres one of my favorites:
The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.
"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them.
1. You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand.
2. You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil.
3. You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.
4. The most important part of you will always be what's inside.
5. On every surface you are used on, you will leave your mark. No matter what your condition you will always be able to write, it's what you were made to do.
Have a great day and know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill your purpose, could be any other way.
Peace and Love, Jim
