What is the best way to show someone you love them?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for April 13, 2008:
It's quite simple really, take the time to listen. Now understand what I said - Do not fix, Do not patch. Do nothing more than set aside time to listen with all your heart and be there for them. It's one of the greatest acts of compassion and love one can offer - being there for another.

A lesson learned this week end. That true compassion is not the patching and fixing of anothers problem.

Yes it was one I struggled to learn for many years. Never really having a good example of this type of compassion and love in my own youth, I never really grasped it until I met my wonderful wife. One day she said just listen to me, do not go off and try to fix anything, do not feel obligated to make it better, if you will just listen to me we can both make it better.
Lesson given and understood.
So glad to hear you had the opportunity to learn this one firsthand.
