We all need more wisdom, not more information. Wisdom arises out of awareness. Wise activities bring happiness and understanding; unwise activities lead to sufering and conflict. Through restraint we gain the strength and composure of mind to pursue a wise course.

what a lovely photo to accompany these beautiful words!!
Thank you! The pic is of our small back porch buddha which sits quietly under some grasses in our garden. Some days I sit almost as motionless and still as he does watching the season change and the garden pass into another state!

Wisdom arising out of seeing, not thinking, not ideas, not beliefs, not someone elses words. Just seeing clearly the situation arising in that moment, seeing every moment afresh, new. No judgment of whatever is happening, acceptance and gratitude for all that live has to offer.

A beautiful definition of wisodm my friend! So true. When we can see clearly we have the greatest opportunity for gaining wisdom. The Quakers of old sat in silence waiting for the divine voice to move them to speak through them. They sat and listened carefully for this voice and in the process entire congregations would gain insights and wisdom beyond their years.
I guess one could say that when we stop seeking, talking, thinking and quietly observe ourselves and our silence within any given moment we begin to embrace wisdom. For within all silence, all pauses and all space inbetween lives the voice of wisdom.
