The potter is engaged in the creative process of shaping the clay according to his will, and when the finished pot is removed from his wheel and fired in the kiln it remains as an enduring artifact of his activity. So also is our own character, personality, and self. Much like the clay pot our own concepts of self are nothing more than ossified karmic relics, accumulated processes of intention and action. Today may we recognize the objects we hold so dearly for what they are and liberate ourselves from those attachments.
